What is Sensitive Skin, Symptoms of Skin Sensitivity

What is sensitive skin? Sensitive skin is not a specific health condition, but a broadly used term to indicate your skin easily reacts when exposed to certain external conditions or stimuli. A skin sensitivity manifest itself through symptoms and can be highly individualized as to what provokes symptoms, the amount it takes to cause a reaction and the extent of a reaction. So, what causes your sensitive skin to react with symptoms may do no little harm to someone else with a skin sensitivity.

Most skin reactions are to man made products, but some develop symptoms when exposed nature produced agents, like the sun, wind and plants. Symptoms of a skin sensitivity vary immensely among individuals. Some report only sensory signs when contact is made, such as burning, stinging or itching sensations. Whereas others actually develop observable symptoms to an irritant, for instance rashes, welts, redness, blotches, bumps and lesions.

If you tend to suffer sensitive skin problems, then you should always test a product on a small spot of skin first before making full use of it. And in the case of skin sensitivity less is best. In others words, keep the types of chemicals in your life to a minimum.
