Ehrlichiosis, Anaplasmosis Tick Borne Infectious Diseases Cause Bacterial Infection Symptoms
Ehrlichiosis and anaplasmosis are similar infectious diseases. Both are tick borne, yet caused by different rickettsial bacteria. Their infection symptoms are the same, yet they occur in different areas east of the Rockies.
Ehrlichiosis is caused by Ehrlichia chaffeensis bacteria, anaplasmosis is caused by Anaplasma phagocytophilum. Rickettsial bacteria family causes other serious diseases too, such as Rocky Mountain spotted fever and typhus.
