Causes of Muscle Weakness, Muscle Fatigue, Weak Muscles, No Strength

Muscle weakness is the reduction in the strength of one or more muscles. Muscle fatigue is the reduced ability to generate force. Succinctly, weak muscles makes you feel like you have no strength.

Muscle weakness is a physical manifestation of fatigue. Your feeling of no strength may be generalized or central, for which all of your muscles feel weak. Or you may have localized or peripheral muscle fatigue on one side, only in a limb or just a muscle.

Laxative overuse, alcoholism, statins, lithium and long term use of corticosteroids, such as prednisone, may contribute to muscle fatigue as well.

Muscle weakness is an expected result of vigorous exercise, an eating disorder, no appetite or fasting.  But what isn’t normal is having no strength after performing typical daily tasks without these influences.
