Burning feet is a sensation that your feet are painfully hot. Your feet could actually be hot to the touch or just feel like they’re burning.
The burning of feet is typically felt in the soles, but can extend upward. Sometimes, burning feet are accompanied by paresthesias. Or be so painful you can’t sleep.
There’s a condition called burning feet syndrome, aka Grierson-Gopalan syndrome, that causes severe burning, achy feet. This health condition is more prevalent in adult women and is a common elderly complaint.
Many experience burning feet because their feet are sorely tired and swollen or just hot and sweaty. Yet, burning feet syndrome can be a symptom of a some other health condition. Some of the possible causes are:

- switch shoes
- wear open or wider shoes
- apply cooling foot creams
- don’t stand for long periods
- supplement your B vitamins
- wear shoes with arch supports
- pain relievers ~ acetaminophen, aspirin
- walk, message your feet to increase circulation
- wear natural fiber (cotton) socks instead of synthetic
