Botox Injections of Food Poisoning for Facial Frown Lines
Who would have “thunk” that food poisoning would be welcome at any party. However, it is the main attraction at a Botox Party.
Botox injections are a cosmetic procedure that some regard as the ultimate fountain of youth. Before you jump into the youth fountain, just a couple things you need to be aware of and consider.
Botox is a protein complex produced by a bacterium containing the same toxin that causes food poisoning.
The FDA granted approval to use Botox to reduced the severity of the frown line condition. It further recommended that this “main party attractor” be injected no more than once every three months at the lowest effective dose.
Although there is no chance of contracting botulism from Botox injections, there are some other risks. For example, if
- common side effects following injection were headache, respiratory infection, flu syndrome, and nausea
- too much toxin is injected into the wrong facial area, a person can end up with droopy eyelid muscles that could last for weeks
- less frequent and generally temporary adverse reactions included pain in the face, redness at the injection site, and muscle weakness
Two other major concerns are that unqualified individuals are administering the Botox prescription, and that injections are be given into wrinkled areas of the face that are beyond the frown line approved area.
Aging gracefully, frown lines and all, just seems much healthier.
